About Ayurveda Treatment

Ayurveda the science of life originated in India around 5000 years ago. It is a holistic approach of well being. According to Ayurveda the four goals of a human life namely Dharma, Artha, Kamaand Moksha can be attained by one with a sound mind and body. It is believed that the knowledge of Ayurveda was passed down to ancient sages by the God. The sages were Athreya, Dididas, Kashyapa etc. Sushruta and Charaka are considered pioneers of the Aurvedic system. The sages and hermits passed down the knowledge to their disciples.

Samhithas are texts written by the sages that has a lot of mention on Ayuveda. Kashyapa Samhitha, Sushruta Samhita and Charaka Samhitha are a few to mention. The Astanga or Astangahridaya mentions the eight branches of Ayurveda, namely Kaya Chikitsa- general medicine, Bala Chikitsa- paediatrics, Graha Chikitsa-idiopathic, Urdhwanga Chikitsa, Salya Chikitsa , Visha Chikitsa , Rasayana Chikitsa and Vajikarana Chikitsa.
